Meet Your Trainer
Meet Evan! Evan is the owner and trainer of High Drive Canine. He grew up in the city of Rancho Cucamonga, California. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2009. In 2011, He was selected for on-the-job training at the IMEF Military Working Dog Platoon on Camp Pendleton, where he assisted and shadowed highly trained working dog trainers and handlers. Shortly after, he attended MWD Handlers Course at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and became a multipurpose Military Working Dog handler. His dog was trained in patrol apprehension as well as bomb detection. In 2012, he was selected to attend the Specialized Search Dog (SSD) handlers course where he worked with instructors to learn how to train and handle highly trained bomb detection dogs off leash. These dog were taught bomb detection off leash utilizing wireless radio communications and hand signals to search a variety of locations. In this assignment, he became an expert in Advanced Obedience training, Substance Detection, and Apprehension/Protection training. After discharging from the USMC in 2014, he became a police officer. For the next 8 years, he continued to train his personal dogs, including one of his retired USMC Bomb dogs, as well as local friend and family dogs. With aspirations to work dogs again professionally, he became a Police working dog handler in 2022. Evan has since deployed a trained police dog in real world situations including searching for hidden suspects, narcotics detection, tracking for lost or handicapped individuals or armed fleeing suspects. Still training local civilian pets, he works and trains with his own personal and working dogs. Evan has a true passion for these animals and has developed a wide variety of knowledge over the course of 10 years training, working, and learning the art of dog training. This passion has led to the development of High Drive Canine with the hopes to pass on his knowledge and passion for these amazing animals.
